Workshop

PTO was founded on producing and delivering fun Shakespeare and classical literature workshops. Come and play drama games and exercises, learn how to build a character, understand and deliver classical text building to a work in progress performance with your new friends you've made along the way!

Summer Online Shakespeare Workshop and Performance
A Midsummer Night's Dream

Monday 3rd - Friday 7th August 2020

9.15am – 12.15pm on Microsoft Teams
(you will be sent a link to the email you book with)

Breaks: 10.00 - 10.15am, 11.00 - 11.15am

Performance: 30-minute Friday performance at 2.30pm for friends and family on Zoom

£70 per participant (half price for siblings)

Prep

  • Print the emailed script or pages
  • Pencil and highlighter
  • Dress in comfy suitable clothes
  • Have a drink of water ready by you should you need it
  • Prepared to raid your wardrobe for any suitable costumes and props!

Space

  • Set up a camera in a 2x2m minimum clear space (the bigger the better)
  • Light source directed on face rather than on the lens of the camera
  • Camera positioned at chest level
  • A chair to sit on in the space

Siblings can share the space and work together with the same camera and Microsoft Teams account.

Health and safety

  • Screen time is a total of 2 hours 30mins each day (excluding Friday performance)
  • Broken up with 2 regular 15 minute breaks
  • Longest stint 60mins

During the 'online' time participants will be participating in online drama games and exercises, reading the set play script as well as staging rehearsing their parts with others. There will be occasions during the online time that they will be asked to take themselves away from the screen to learn some lines which will also allow for a screen break.
